In III quarter 2020, the volume of construction work carried out decreased by 0.1 per cent.

 

In III quarter 2020, the volume of construction work carried out in the country amounted to EUR 952.4 million at current prices, and against the previous quarter, seasonally and calendar adjusted, decreased by 0.1 per cent at constant prices (unadjusted – increased by 16.7 per cent).

 

Over a quarter, the volume of building construction decreased by 4 per cent, civil engineering structures – increased by 4.1per cent (unadjusted – increased by 7.3 and 26.3 per cent respectively).

 

In III quarter 2020, compared to the respective period of the previous year, the volume of construction work carried out, calendar adjusted, decreased by 6.6 per cent (unadjusted – by 6.4 per cent).

 

The share of construction of civil engineering structures accounted for 53.2 per cent of the total construction work carried out in the country (EUR 506.8 million), which is, calendar adjusted, by 5.4 per cent (unadjusted – by 6.2 per cent) more than a year ago.

 

The share of construction of non-residential buildings accounted for 30 per cent of the total construction work carried out in the country (EUR 285.5 million), which is, calendar adjusted, by 24.2 per cent (unadjusted – by 24 per cent) less than in III quarter 2019.

 

The share of construction of residential buildings accounted for 16.8 per cent (EUR 160 million), which is, calendar adjusted, by 1.4 per cent (unadjusted – by 2.6 per cent) less than in III quarter 2019.

 

In January–September 2020, the volume of construction work carried out in the country amounted to EUR 2.4 billion. Compared to the same period of 2019, calendar adjusted, it decreased by 3.3 per cent (unadjusted – by 3.4 per cent).

 

In III quarter 2020, the volume of construction work carried out abroad amounted to EUR 106.8 million, which is, seasonally and calendar adjusted, by 7.3 per cent more than in II quarter 2020 and by 0.7 per cent more than in III quarter 2019 (unadjusted – by 23.6 per cent more and 0.5 per cent less respectively).

 

In January–September 2020, the volume of construction work carried out abroad amounted to EUR 285.9 million. Compared to the same period of 2019, it decreased by 0.2 per cent (unadjusted – increased by 5.1 per cent).
